What should our ideal HB, platelets, white cells and neuts be as normal. I should be interested to know.

Whenever I receive a blood test result, I see my readings for each element and in a separate column there is a range of numbers that identify where the count should fall into (for that particular laboratory) to be considered normal. There is also another column that flags the reading as high or low to draw attention to that specific element. Take another look at your latest report to see if yours has the same data elements.

"in range" can vary slightly from lab to lab, and even from machine to machine within a lab, so hopefully your lab will have the ranges as Marie pointed out. Our labs can also fluctuate slightly depending on time of day, fluid intake, how much exercise we've done before going in, how the blood was handled, etc. Dr. Susan LeClair covers this well in her videos on patientpower.info Sometimes there is just a lab error. It is helpful to follow your labs over time as trends are usually more important than single counts.
