Help! I have had a lymph node removed with biopsy. Came back metastatic lymph node. This is second one. Was behind my ear. First tumor is still waiting for help. First tumor came up out of no where. Size of a good golf ball. Keeps enlarging to where now it is sort of purple because it is pushing on the small blood veins.I had a PET scan to see where the cancer is but it did not show where it is located. They are going to do a needle biopsy on the big tumor to see what is in it. They want to see if it connected to the one they took out. They were about 6 inches apart. The doctor says if it contains the same type cancer cells he wants to do radiation and maybe chemo. I dont know about that. I am 80 and have been healthy all my life. Started with Shingles in July and down hill from there. What would you do? Wife has me on a program that makes your body alkaline because cancer can not feed on alkaline body.

Its unclear you have a diagnosis of CLL... I'm surprised a PET scan didn't see a node that size... perhaps they were looking for a primary site somewhere in the body, since this is metastatic...traveled from somewhere else..

A biopsy should identify the type of cancer that is involved...

Certainly chemo treatment or perhaps radiotherapy would be good options.

Further to Chris's reply, this community supports those with a specific leukaemia/lymphoma - CLL. It appears that your specialist is endeavouring to identify what primary cancer you have, so you can be given the most effective treatment, so until you have a clear diagnosis of CLL or SLL, this community won't be of much assistance other than to wish you well.

We can however inform you that your wife's well meaning efforts to change your body's acid/alkali balance is just one of many disproven myths as this reference explains: scienceblog.cancerresearchu...

Improving your diet could help your body recover from your tumours, but you don't need to sacrifice your enjoyment of food in a futile effort to change what can't be changed.
