Lymph node development

I have been diagnosed 5 years ago and now it appears the cll is active. My lymphocyte has tripled in last six monthes. I have no visible lymph nodes but have a very sore throat/neck and sometimes ears. Is this a precursor to the nodes developing?

Haematologists use ALC of 30K for closer observation and noting of lymphocyte doubling time..., but counts are just an indication and lymphocyte doubling time of about 6 months, usually starts further assessments of B symptoms, node involvement and often a CTscan...

If you have sore nodes then this needs to be taken up with your doctor in the near future.

Nodes by themselves don't often trigger treatment, but they can, as in my case...

Because there are many clinical factors with CLL, one can't look a one single factor in isolation. Remember, CLL also impacts the immune system, so a sore throat might indicate something else like infection. Your doctor will look at many other factors, so it's best not to speculate; you'll drive yourself crazy considering all possibilities. The good news is that there are so many effective treatment options today if/when you might need to treat. CLL has become a very manageable condition for many patients today. Speak with your doctor. Each person's case is unique.

This hurts on the outside, not inside like a sore throat from a cold. I am waiting for a appt with the Cancer Care unit, but note that sometimes it hurts to turn my head under my jaw. But thank you for your cimments, I am just probably over speculating.

You might visit your dentist, too. I had a similar problem, with pain under the jaw. It turned out to be an inflammation of the saliva gland - it can be viral or bacterial or, as in my case, due to the blockage of gland by the common crystallized saliva deposits. It was quite easily resolved...
