I was told that people with CLL should not take Ibroproven (UK) pain killer. Is this correct?

A really effective anti-inflammatory - Unfortunately should not be used if you have poor kidney function.

I've had it listed as "used as needed" on my medical record at MD Anderson while on ibrutinib for 4+ years and my oncologists, who are at the top of the leukemia department there, have never cautioned me against using it. It can make you bleed a little easier, but you periodic blood tests should tell you what you platelet level is. Ask your doc if in doubt.

I have been using Ibuprofen gel for my arthritis for years with good effect, so when I was being started on ibrutinib I asked the haematologist if I could continue with the gel. He said topical use of Ibuprofen is safe. So, if arthritis is what you use it for, try the gel.

I am currently taking a painkiller that is Tylenol based (Fioricet). When I asked my doctor if I could occasionally take Fiornal with codeine for migraine (aspirin based), she told me I could, but only occasionally.
