I am taking PARMID XL a calcium channel blocker for raised blood pressure. It's made it worse. Is it because I have stage 1 CLL.

Hello corgi thanks for asking your question. Reading back your question are you saying that you have just started Paramid and it's made your blood pressure worse? Is that because of your stage 1 CLL?

I am sure someone with experience will chip in.

As a CLL patient who experiences hypertension (raised blood pressure).. I can relate to the problem with stabilizing it, it took my medical team a while and I eventually scaled all the combinations until they found the right one it can take some time. I don't believe my CLL affected this? However CLL seems to be implemented in so many inflammatory conditions and responses though..

I would inform your medical team as soon as you can, so they can monitor your meds carefully. High blood pressure may cause you more problems than the CLL

I'm not on meds for CLL just think the hypertension has got worse in the last three weeks since I started on Paramid.

Follow this up it sounds like you could be correct, discuss this with your doc as it may probably have nothing to do with CLL.. Getting your blood pressure down must be a priority. To my knowledge my own early CLL did not infliuence my own medics in stabilizing my own. If I had understood this earlier in my CLL journey I may have avoided cardiac complications? Having never had CLL before I accepted developing or difficult issues at that time as part of the CLL, when it was all about something else i had heart disease...

Now exercise and diet have had more influence over my blood pressure than CLL and of course beta blockers since my heart attacks :-)
