Unfortunately, probably far from being a Welsh Phoenix. Populations are generally in decline. Is there anything in the natural world that isn't?

Anyway, this puffin was drawn using water-soluble graphite in an attempt to give it an ethereal look. I hope I achieved it. The picture is small (4" by 6"). I think maybe if I do it larger I will achieve more of what I was looking for.

For something brighter, here is a picture of some abandoned sheds at the Blaenafon Industrial Museum. I drew this using oil pastels and kiddies' wax crayons.

I just love how you experiment with colour ! The puffin certainly looks ethereal . I like the mine shaft , I’d be tempted to try a version in watercolour, but then I’m always tempted by the fluidity of watercolour - I wonder what that says about me 🤔 I’d like to think it reflects a personality that’s calm , not too precise and goes with the flow 😂
