Does your husband have any vision at all, I'm registered blind but I have vision in one eye, also does your husband have any other health issues to look after

I have no knowledge of osteoarthritis so I'm not able to offer any advice, but sending best wishes to you and your husband

It can definitely be tricky being a carer! I care for my mum who has Parkinson’s disease and keeps getting bowel issues and she’s gradually becoming more confused each time she comes home from hospital.

It is really frustrating sometimes…personally I find when mum’s communication isn’t great (which is getting a bit more regular now) and I have to try and second guess what she’s wanting or trying to say.

Please don’t be hard on yourself because caring for someone..especially your own family, can be really challenging and frustrating!

Take some time for you too!

Hey! You’re clearly not frustrated with your hubby but with the situation you now find yourself in without even signing up for it! Hopefully by now you’ve had a carers assessment and hubby has has care needs assessment? And no doubt a ream of bloody leaflets! Caring is tiring and the last thing you want to do is read leaflets/put even more effort into sorting things? It’s so not as straightforward as the leaflets make out, hidden costs, time taken to get things sorted, tying up all the bits thrown into the quagmire? But for both your sakes, plug away at the extra jobs so that you can both be supported. The journey isn’t without unexpected roadworks but it is possible to get a routine running!
