Hi JAS,

Thanks so much for that very useful link to official UK advice for Carers from GovUk with regard to Covid-19 (Coronavirus). I think we must expect advice to change from time to time, to deal with what's happening in terms of the changing knowledge and experience learned as we try to cope with it.

I respect your views on the advisability of wearing masks, and there are quite a lot of people who do feel as you do. One of the big dangers of masks is that they can be spreaders of any virus if worn by those people who don't fully understand how to safely remove and dispose of them. Hand washing still remains the biggest protector of ourselves and others, unless, as things stand, you have been advised to wear one because you are infected yourself, and need to prevent spreading that infection to another person. And in that case I can see that it would be essential that an infected Carer learn how to use and dispose of a mask safely, to protect the person being cared for.

This epidemic is a steep learning curve for all of us and I'd be surprised if lots of mistakes aren't made. Each country is taking its own approach, and actually that's good. We are all in quite a parlous situation at the moment and shared experiences of what went right and wrong, will be tools for coping better with outbreaks in the future.

But again, thanks so much for that link, because not much in the way of advice and guidance for Carers has been publicised and Carers are in for a more worrying time than most people.

Thanks JAS, and take care and stay safe.

Hi Callendersgal I have already sounded carers out AND know nhs will probably have to pick up home care IF it come to it as carers I talked to said would not attend even with equipment

Glad hospitals doctors nurse don’t think like that.

Me personally I think if was going to be like other countries would already as viruses don’t work pick n choose that way LOOK at our infection rate of 10 thousand and mortality rate of 11

When I had immunity issues I did belive in Heard Immunity and guess still do.

I can’t understand our infection rate to mortality GIVEN how virus as devastated other countries from day one.

When you look into Heard Immunity and fact Italy is well documented anti vaccination country i think that didn’t helped maters.

But getting back to U.K. I know how lucky have been in avoiding sessional 🤧 flu befoure flu jab AND not been lucky at all

So makes me think given last year of winter bugs AND what’s going on now with coronavirus had we been previously exposed
