Invictus Explained : For Those That Don’t Get It #

Never in my life as a young carer with my own health issues HAVE I ever read something so relevant heart catching TO the circumstances I find myself in ASWELL as army NOT as vocal but others must find there selfs in given there own caring roles.

Who reside visit lot places of true horror human suffering, all behind closed doors.

Who in such terrible circumstances have not winched nor cried aloud.

But carried on in the true INVICTUS way.

With heads held high and majority of the time out of pubic view

So with that said AND In mind guess if human suffering is really part of life’s cruel process SO must caring AND as it’s all I know I must continue.

If that makes me INVICTUS guess it’s good to know AND ever better to know am not on my own.

Very inspiring JAS. You’re very caring and watching your dad suffer must be incredibly difficult yet you carry on despite your own health problems.

Make time for you too and thank you for the great Bee Gees music. I certainly know how deep my love is.

Take care xxx 😘

Hi JAS,

I think that final line of William Ernest Henley's 'Invictus' poem sums up a lot of what courage is. Being the 'master of your ship' and the 'captain of your fate' puts us firmly in charge of ourselves and what we do with our lives. Some step up to the plate by putting on a uniform and defending others. But as you said, some are courageous behind closed doors, doing what others can't find the strength to do, and that perfectly sums up caring. Then at the other end of the scale there are those of lesser feeling and conscience who have no problem in manipulating, cheating and harming others. As you rightly say, the whole flawed human condition really.

What's clear is that you have the goodness that marks out decent human beings, as have our other Care Community members, and, like you, they have stepped up to the plate to do what needs doing whether through love, duty or a mixture of both.

And they are all the unsung heroes. There's nothing glamorous for them. No special uniform or medals to mark them out, but I'm quite sure that within their hearts, or should be, the knowledge that they are all doing what they need to do for others.

So bless them all, and bless you too JAS.

Well Jeff that is a brilliant post, you do care and it reminds me of when my late father-in-law was ill at the end of his life my husband could not do the care it was me . Not everyone can care for their own you do as did I so we should be able to allow ourselves some me time without feeling guilty. Keep up the good work Jeff but don't overlook your own needs .

Hi 🙋there JAS and as a dedicated B Gees fan, the video brought back so,so many memories for me......some good some not so good but all played a part in making me who I am today.

Invictus is a word.not to be used without real consideration. As sassy59 ,@callendersgal,@katieoxo60 have already replied far more eloquently than I ever could,I just want you to know, you have put your own health issues to or side when necessary to ensure you Dad gets the correct care. You've been there to see just how the system falls short on many occasions when it particularly comes to the way we care for Dementia patients. As I've told my story about my dear Mum who has been gone just 5 months now,I wish I'd been more vigilant, like you but for whatever reason, she was cared for until her last breath.

I've gone off point now but JAS keep doing what you do ..... Because you are so very good at it !!! 💞💞💞
