Mitochondrial DNAdepletionsyndrome [MDS or MDDS] is any group of autosomal recessive disorders that cause a significant drop in Mitochondrial DNA in different tissues.

Mitochondrial disease in adults is a complicated disorder to diagnose. The symptoms can fluctuate day to day as can various test results. This complicates the picture. The situation is made easier if other family members have already been diagnosed with this condition.

Hello Beezle47, I'm not too sure exactly, but I "think" its maybe something to do with good and bad bacteria and they have a role to play but I can't remember what it Hope it helps.
