Duedenum Stump Leak

Hello everyone. Just wandered whether anybody has any information on a duedenum stump leak if you know any one living with this following stomach surgery. Thank you

Hi Mistymoomoo,

Unfortunately I don't really know enough about this to be of much help to you. I know that this sometimes follows on from a gastrectomy for stomach cancer and I have seen from a previous question that you were caring for your dad who had cancer, so I wonder if this is to do with his diagnosis?

I also know that in some cases it can be helped, and in the last resort by further surgery, but how common this is, and what the implications of that are, I have no idea.

Even if others here are able to help more, I think I'd also recommend that you ask a medical professional such as a GP for the specifics of the case, and what help is possible, and, if the answers seem incomprehensible to you, as they sometimes can, just ask and ask again until it's given to you in a way that you understand.

Thank you. Yes my dad has been left with this leak now and really bad. Been through to hell and back over the last 3 months. Just wandered whether anybody else had any experience of this. Thank you for your words x
