Due a council tax discount for ‘severe mental impairment’? Here's how to claim

Go to this website it explains exactly how to claim this benefit.

I did not know about this until this year. I claimed and now have a 25% discount on my Council Tax and it has enabled me to pay for more help.

That is good news for you and anyone else who can claim. Good wishes to you and thank you for sharing that information. Xxxxx

Hi jinasc,

Thanks so much for this input. It's what helps to make Healthunlocked such a useful forum for so many people. I certainly hadn't known about this and I bet there are lots of other people who didn't either.

It always seems to be quite hard to ferret out any information that will actually save us some money that can always be readily used elsewhere in caring for someone, so that's brilliant news. I hope that others will follow your advice and do the same thing. Thanks again!
