Best advice I can give is if you're concerned about your parent's overall well-being, schedule an appointment with the doctor. He or she will give you a better understanding of exactly what your loved one is going through and if there's any progression in memory loss.

Hi Monea51, and welcome to this caring forum. While forgetfulness is the most common symptom associated with dementia, it is not the only sign,or deciding factor of the disease. The symptoms of dementia go beyond memory loss and can vary. Your loved one may experience difficulty communicating, focusing, reasoning and more. As Philip and Bananas5 have said, please book an appointment with your GP. He/She will give you a better understanding of what your loved one is going through and if there is any progression in memory loss. Please stay on the forum where you will receive more help and support. Thank you and best wishes.

From my research and according to (PHE, 2016) it is no evidence or connection between ageing and dementia.Prevention programme includes a simple principle" what is good for the heart is good for the brain". So in conclusion, healthy and balanced diet, reducing consumption of alcohol and quit smoking be physically active read books may help or delay dementia. Thank you, Ionel Dumitru.
