Get a diagnosis?

My GP rang and said I may be suffering from POLYALGA (sorry.....don't even know how to spell ) Underactve thyrod may have complcated things, as previous serious illness (renal TB /Menginitis )may have done too. Can anyone advise of best way to find out please . I am 66 and currently on a short course of low grade steroids.Next appt with GP is in three weeks time

Hello Diddums

Thank you for your post. It does sound as if you are having a difficult time. You may mean that the GP says that you could have polymyalgia.

It may be that the only way to get more understanding of your situation is to see your GP and ask them to explain more about the situation. You may want to make an appointment before three weeks time.

Perhaps you could let us know more about what is happening for you and our members may have more support and help for you?

You mention about previous serious illness, could you say a little more about that?

Family are booked to attend apportionment so cant change it now ......also GP only works Mon and Tuesdays so system was full.
