Carers Own Health

As a carer why are we expected to be healthy 100% of the time.

Why are we not allowed sick leave?

How do others manage there caring role whilst being unwell?

Hi Julievictoria and welcome to the forum. I am sorry that you are unwell. It is true that caring can affect all aspects of our lives and it is important to look after your own health, so please see your doctor if you continue to feel unwell as there may be some additional support that can be put in place. There is a post related to this below here "support for vulnerable carers" and some replies . You may find this helpful. Also, have a look at the pinned posts to the right of the screen and nhs.uk benefits for carers, as knowing what benefits you and the person you care for are entitled to can make a big difference. Look after yourself and I hope you will soon be feeling better. Thank you and best wishes.

I see my GP weekly there is no support for carers in my area. Carers are expected to work even when unwell.
