Claiming carer's allowance.

I understand this is means tested. Can anyone shed any light on this area..for instance if you have a lot of money in savings ( say over £40k) - would this have a negative impact on what you might be able to claim??

Good evening Lakeside. Thank you for posting your question on this community. Carer's allowance and the rules for applying are in the 'Pinned Posts on the right hand side of the screen. Also there is also very useful information in the 'Related posts' too. Hope this is helpful.

I claim Carers allowance for my husband and can't say I was means tested when I claimed. Thing is just try and what can they say, yeso or no. You don't have anything to lose. Good luck

Agreed Alyh, they can only say yes or no worth a try for Lakeside7.
