Hi I am joining to see if I am entitled to carers money my partner of 28 years has stage 4 cancer with ulcerating tumours in his groin he is having chemo at home I have had to stay off work to look after him with nurses twice a week I dress his ulcers wash dress him give medication with no wages bills are mounting up any advice please ? thanks

Hi Charliedog6, and welcome to the forum. Your husband's needs will need to be assessed and you will then need to apply for allowances/benefits. Please have a look at the pinned posts to the right of the screen which will give you some useful information. Also, please have a look at the following websites---macmillancancersupport--mamillan.org.uk finance.macmillan.org.uk. These organisations also provide advice and support. I am sure other members of the forum will be along soon to offer advice and support. Please look after your own health also and stay in contact on the forum to let us know how you are getting on. Hi Charliedog6, I am in similar position, my partner was diagnosed 4weeks ago with terminal cancer, in his lymph nodes, spine, lungs, bones and to top it off 2brain tumours. I claim carers but gave up my job beforehand. I have talked to Macmillan and they are good, they will help with many things and are excellent with financial stuff. Good luck with everything. X
