I `ve been caring for my husband for over 22years since his stroke.He gets full disability each month.Someone told me I should have been getting carers allowance,is that correct? He is 77 years old.

Oh ,thank you ,I`m 71 so wonder why age has anything to do with caring?

Once you receive state pension you are not allowed to claim carers allowance .

you certainly will get it you can apply on line but i doubt you will get much backdated hope that helps
