Hi Sankey, I think the reason you don't get carers allowance is because your wife has carers coming in. The rules are really frustrating, you say your wife has pancreatic cancer, maybe someone could advise you or do a reassessment of her care and benefits which takes into account carers needs too. She may be entitled to ongoing hospital care which is free as she has cancer, you have rights for your needs to be met as a carer too as you are her main carer, you need help to assess both your needs, maybe your GP or practice nurse might be able to help or direct you to those who can. Best Wishes

Hi Sankey, I have found a few websites that may be helpful to you--pancreaticcancer.org.uk macmillan.org.uk dementiauk.org. As Katieoxo60 said, perhaps your GP or practice nurse may be able to help. Have a look at the pinned post [on the right of the screen] where you will find more information on Carer's Allowance. Remember that you are not alone and do keep in touch on the forum. Best wishes.
