Dear Hithereeveryone,
If you are in the UK and would find it useful to talk things over, our nurse-led helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm on 0800 652 7330 (excluding bank holidays)

I think we probably need more information but I am sorry to hear you are in this position.
What were the reasons for the blood tests, are there symptoms your husband has that indicate something? Does your husband drink at all?
Getting a big scary sounding diagnosis and then not having any information is really hard. But something doesn't add up here. No GP is going to give you that information based on one blood test. To get my husband diagnosed with compensated cirrhosis took 5 lots of blood tests, 2 genetic tests, 6 different scans, 5 visits to A&E, 2 specialist nurses and 2 consultants over the course of almost 10 months.
