Hi Roy1955 just to say why don’t you have a quick chat to someone about having or not having the booster. I’m not qualified to say either way but I going for mine for protection and just think it might be good for you. Good luck 👍

Stay safe All

I got my invite for a booster in the middle of last month and went online immediately to arrange an appointment.

Went for the appointment and was slightly disappointed to see I was getting the Moderna one. I have had this variety before and had a sore arm for a few days but other varieties I haven't had much of a reaction too at all. The sore arm started as expected but a day later I wasn't feeling well. Not very unwell just cold and under the weather. Booster day + 2 I was worse, had a temperature (38C) and didn't feel like eating. My wife noticed a rash on my back. It was a bit itchy and sore to touch. Got some calamine lotion and applied it night and day, and slowly the rash is improving. So, not a major problem.

It has not totally put me off boosters, but given the option, personally I would avoid Moderna in future.

I expect this post will be deleted. But please think very, very carefully before you have any more covid injections.

Please think hard.

Had mine on Friday. Like Peter, disappointed it was Moderna, because I had a reaction to the last Moderna jab I had, but apart from a sore arm and a headache not too bad this time. I know it won’t stop me catching Covid but if it reduces the severity that’s a good reason to have it. Still masking and taking precautions not to catch it in the first place.

I attended on online session about the Stravinsky Study looking at individual risk of Covid last week and thinking about signing up.

youtu.be/iX49JqIqdZQ - this is the recording of the Stravinsky webinar. You can find out more about the study here immunology.org/partnerships.... It’s being lead by The University of Birmingham, with other UK universities also involved. It’s funded by the . nihr.ac.uk/. They are still recruiting and I think a lot of people on here might be eligible. The data at the beginning of the webinar might help you decide about the vaccine Roy.
