I had my over 40 health check on the NHS. It came back with quote Dr worring high liver function test results.
Also high cholesterol but bad cholesterol was fine and it was the good cholesterol which was high. Overall cholesterol was around 8.
Dr said two not connected and was not overly worried about the cholesterol as it was good cholesterol.
Bloods were rerun two weeks later. Liver function still very high as was cholesterol like before no other bloods were of concern.
I do get random adomon discomfort mainly on left lower side sometimes right which is mild bloating and occasionally poo has a yellow ish colour.
Any idea what it could be the Dr has referred me for a priority scan so she must be worried about something but won't say why

You don’t say which scan they have sent you for, suspect at this stage it will be an ultrasound. They are responding to you having abnormal blood results and looking for a reason. Liver is the most obvious, but it could be other things too. Try not to worry, the liver is an incredibly resilient organ and even up to cirrhosis, damage is reversible and even then if the underlying cause is eliminated then damage can be halted. The liver can operate on about 30% of its capacity. At the moment, cut out alcohol completely to take away additional pressure on the liver, eat healthily (as you sound as if you do, but cut out cookies for now) exercise and try to relax as much as possible. Those things alone will be enough to reduce your blood results. The scan will highlight if there is any damage. They’ll want to fully understand the cause, so they’ll run other tests too I suspect. They’ll also want to check lifestyle things with you like alcohol consumption. It sounds as if you are getting very good treatment. Ask your doctor lots of questions and hopefully it’s something that’s easily resolved.
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes it is an altra sound. Apart from the high cholesterol the fact it's an emergency scan and she said the levels were alarmingly high have given me massive wobbles.
But looking on the web a bit yes they are high but not 900 plus which Dr Google which is dangerous in itself thinks is high.
Maybe I'm over worrying my cousin recently passed away on bone cancer at 45 and my Dad has recently been diagnosed with skin cancer so I'm a little on edge
No , I have a glass of wine once every few months. No meds just a daily multivitamin drink which the Dr dismissed saying that won't cause it to spike by such a large amount
If you haven't had a blood test to check for autoimmune antibodies, I would ask for one. My ALP, ALT, bilirubin and cholesterol were high and it turned out to be an autoimmune liver disease. They checked my blood for ANA and AMA and they were positive. At least you won't have to wait long for a scan.
Thanks. It's just worring when the Dr said they were very concerning and an energy scan needed. I think she was just being conservative. As you say having done a bit of reading they are not scary high as I was lead to believe but still need looking into.
