Hi all,
I just started Keto in early November after NAFLD showed up on my ultrasound.
I had blood tests done in September which seemed normal.
The tests I had done a few days ago are now showing high LDL(9.51 mmol/l) high ALT(68 units/L) and high Gamma GT levels(61 units/L).The good thing is my HDL (1.14 mmol/l) is now higher and my triglycerides(1.66 mmol/l) are lower.
Is it normal that these levels will be higher the first few months? Before I speak to my doctor who would want me to stop keto and go on a statin.
I’ve been eating a healthy keto diet after seeing Doctor Eric Berg’s videos and skipping breakfast to fast.
So far I went from weighing 99kg to 88.4kg.
My typical meals are:
Lunch: grilled chicken, salad, half avocado, topped with salt, lemon and olive oil. 40g of blueberries.
Dinner: grilled salmon, salad or grilled veggies such as zucchini, topped with salt, olive oil, lemon and parsley.
Drinks:
8-10 cups of water a day
1-2 cups plain green tea per day.
1 cup of water with half a lemon and 2tps Apple Cider Vinegar.
No alcohol or medications.
