So I posted a year ago absolutely terrified & after was so relived that other people were the same and similar to me, so in the past year
I’ve moved into my absolute dream place (I was always the drunk living in spare bedrooms)
Got my licence back & bought my absolute dream car too
Worked closely with a addiction specialist and will carry on doing that
Stayed 100% sober
Got a dog & spend most of my free time doing walks & camping
Found out my liver is now compensated, acetes has gone & all my bloods are great all the time
Kept up with the gym and running
Had my first “oh my god you look completely different” from a old friend in the street
For the first time in my life I’m content, I’m used to my diet, I’m used to exercising, I don’t care about drinking, I’m actually shocked how much of a flex not drinking at all is & I’m genuinely excited to see what I can achieve in 2023
Thank you to everyone that commented on my post last year I can’t even explain how much that helped, I know it’s a continuous journey for me. but I just hope if anyone is reading this feeling unmotivated ect to just keep at it because the rewards & happiness from getting healthy & sober are far better then the temporary happiness drinking brings
Well done after being a heavy drinker all my life owning my own pub I am now sober 10 month's the feeling is great I me again still got de compensated liver bet it's a long road ahead for me well done keepings off it
That’s brilliant news....so well done. It’s a great post and will be a huge support to others who are in the position you were 12 months ago. Fantastic.
Fantastic story which will be so inspirational for others. Keep up the good work and continue to enjoy and appreciate your “new”life. And thank you for sharing your achievement.
What an inspirational post. Great that your on a fitness regime, I have different circumstances but the key for me taking back control of my health was fitness and I found running having never been a runner in my life. Have you looked up Parkrun. It's a great start to the weekend and gives a bit of purpose to the weekly exercise regime.
Well done fella🙂... not easy to do....all of the above!.Given myself a bit of a boost, as have been struggling with various things in life of late!!!🙄. Keep up all the good work fella.
