Just wanted to say my partner passed away at Christmas. He had ALD, refractory ascites with weekly drains and an incarcerated peri-umbilical hernia.
He could not stop drinking... If you are the partner of someone with ALD please, stop nagging them to stop and value the time you have together, the hernia killed my man, not the liver disease (secondary cause along with alcohol excess).
Beg every professional you can for help and don't ever give up... Because I promise you, when your soulmate is gone and you can't get them back, you'll see a hundred other things you could have tried...
If you can, take a step back and then hold them close and enjoy the good times you have...my world has ended... Please don't let yours xxx
