Hi Nightowl, what caused you to have the blood tests in the first place? Have you any symptoms that anything untoward might be going on?

Your GGT isn't massively raised and if it were the only liver enzyme that is up (a little) then it may not be hugely of concern. GGT is also present in other organs so your doctor is on the ball by sending you for an ultrasound.

Don't be overly worried at this stage, there can be all sorts of things that can cause elevations in bloods and it's a case of checking these out or seeing if there is any sort of pattern to the elevations.

There are all sorts of liver illnesses which are not alcohol related and most are treatable or reversible with lifestyle changes. We'll not go into them all just now in case your ultrasound reveals there is hee haw to get concerned about.

Your doctor is on the ball with organising follow up tests, stay off Dr Google because it will always lead you to worst case scenarios and you'll scare yourself silly when there may be nothing wrong at all.

Yes I was having trouble with my bowel moments and cramps so I had bloods taken then they saw that there was another enzyme which was high so they sent me for more bloods and now another enzyme is high, so until I get the ultrasound results I’m not to worry? Thank you that has made me feel a little better.

Don’t know if they have changed the scale but I was told a GGT of 80 or below is perfectly normal
