Can anyone help me on my test results?

Hi everyone, I’m new and this is my first post. I was wondering if you could help me.

I’m 27 year old female 10 months PP just for some background. A couple of stone overweight I’d say and a social binge drinker every month or so with maybe a couple of glasses of wine here and there. Not a really heavy drinker but I’d say sometimes over the recommendation.

I had some routine bloods done because I have severe health anxiety and was always going to the doctors and one of these tests were liver function. My alt ended up being 50 and my alp 150. My doctor said I needed to repeat them again which I did and they rose slightly (not sure the exact figure just a bit of an increase). I have since then been sent for an ultrasound which I’m told was fine and had further bloods done for things like hepatitis and Wilson’s disease along with other liver conditions which I’m afraid I had never heard of so I don’t remember them all now. But I was told these results were fine. I’m not sure if this is just my health anxiety playing tricks on me but I feel like I can always feel twinges in the liver region and my back. I know that no one on here can diagnose me but I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance that what I’m feeling could be muscular or something else as my scan was clear. Can anyone provide any insights on my blood test numbers and if I should be concerned at all. Be gentle please as I said I have severe health anxiety! Thank you all so much.

Hello there Hops123,

Welcome, to one of the friendliest sites ever!

Here you will find, folk ready to support you and hold you up during the bad times, and the good as well.

You seek your medical advice from the doctors, but here you can feed your heart and soul.

Ask questions about things you are not clear on, that maybe you are struggling to understand.

Here I found people who have actually become friends, who are both loving and kind. With such a lot of supportive knowledge as well.

All at differing stages of all form of liver disease.

So be at peace because you can nearly always find someone, who is going through the exact, or near enough the same things as you.

I am sure you will get lots of welcoming replies, from all the awesome folks, on this site.

I am not qualified in the knowledge of anything really to offer advice, but there are lots who qualify just by virtue of the fact they have been through it.

Along with all those who know how they felt when a letter came that was a tad ambiguous, and then feelings of fear and uncertainty, raised it’s ugly head.

For now, I send virtual welcome hugs to you both.

Stay strong you are not alone anymore.

Hi Hops123

Welcome to the forum. Are you in the UK? if so, why don't you call our nurse led helpline? it is open Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm on 0800 652 7330 and we can have a chat.

Regarding your bloods, reported reference ranges can vary between laboratories so we would suggest that you discuss any concerns you have with your own doctors.

We hope you find the forum a supportive place to visit,

Best wishes

Hi Hops123

Welcome, my bloods were in the 600 ranges for many years, it was only a referral through another disease i have, I do make make B3 when issues were found, like trust says, its best to discuss with your doctor as my results did not pick up the main issues, and some of these results do not cause concerns, its better to speak to your doctor.

Best Wishes

Rob
