Hi everyone, I’m new and this is my first post. I was wondering if you could help me.
I’m 27 year old female 10 months PP just for some background. A couple of stone overweight I’d say and a social binge drinker every month or so with maybe a couple of glasses of wine here and there. Not a really heavy drinker but I’d say sometimes over the recommendation.
I had some routine bloods done because I have severe health anxiety and was always going to the doctors and one of these tests were liver function. My alt ended up being 50 and my alp 150. My doctor said I needed to repeat them again which I did and they rose slightly (not sure the exact figure just a bit of an increase). I have since then been sent for an ultrasound which I’m told was fine and had further bloods done for things like hepatitis and Wilson’s disease along with other liver conditions which I’m afraid I had never heard of so I don’t remember them all now. But I was told these results were fine. I’m not sure if this is just my health anxiety playing tricks on me but I feel like I can always feel twinges in the liver region and my back. I know that no one on here can diagnose me but I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance that what I’m feeling could be muscular or something else as my scan was clear. Can anyone provide any insights on my blood test numbers and if I should be concerned at all. Be gentle please as I said I have severe health anxiety! Thank you all so much.

I am not qualified in the knowledge of anything really to offer advice, but there are lots who qualify just by virtue of the fact they have been through it.
Along with all those who know how they felt when a letter came that was a tad ambiguous, and then feelings of fear and uncertainty, raised it’s ugly head.
Thank you so much for your lovely reply, I really appreciate your response and send a virtual hug back 😊
I’m really glad this site has helped you so much and I hope I can find some support here too.
Best of luck to you on your journey.

Hi Hops123
Welcome to the forum. Are you in the UK? if so, why don't you call our nurse led helpline? it is open Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm on 0800 652 7330 and we can have a chat.
Regarding your bloods, reported reference ranges can vary between laboratories so we would suggest that you discuss any concerns you have with your own doctors.
We hope you find the forum a supportive place to visit,
Welcome, my bloods were in the 600 ranges for many years, it was only a referral through another disease i have, I do make make B3 when issues were found, like trust says, its best to discuss with your doctor as my results did not pick up the main issues, and some of these results do not cause concerns, its better to speak to your doctor.
