Well my surgery went well,Only problem was as I expected low oxygen levels after the anesthetic.

so glad I opted for Mastectomy-would never have coped with further operations and up to 18 months of treatment if I had opted for reconstruction..Only appts now are with a district nurse to check dressings and scar and then to see the surgeon in 2 weeks time and a phsyio.

Went in on tuesday and home on wednesday evening.was feelng sick up until I stopped taking the liquid morphine this morning.

Only have mild pain and discomfort so just taking paracetemol and codeine.Reunited with my dogs today who I had to put in kennels.

thank you.Still feeling tired ,bit boring sitting watching tv most of the day as not doing anything too physical.my dogs seem to know that they cannot go for walks and are relaxing most of the day.

so pleased it’s gone well for you and you’ve been reunited with a woman’s best friend - your dog! Hope you have a speedy recovery.

thank you so much,it was horrible being apart from my furry friends.they were so pleased to be back home too- their kennel experience was not the best for them.

Take it a day at a time!

Listen to your body & don’t try to rush back to everyday activities.

It takes time to recover after traumatic surgery.

I'm so glad everything went well for you! I had quite a bit of nausea after my surgery. I was wondering if the doctor gave you odensatron that really helped me a lot. Yes, you will need to take it slow but I felt pretty good after 4-6 weeks. I got breast implants so I just went home with them and got adjusted to them. I'm glad I did it all at once and didn't do a reconstruction that would require months of tissue expanders. Wishing you all the best and a comfortable recovery.

thank you. They did say they gave me a drug when i was under anaesthetic, not sure what it was called.I did not want to have any form of implants because of the bad stories I had heard .

did you have a double mastectomy?if you dont mind me asking.I asked for a double mastectomy but was declined.

Yes, I did...in my case I had 2 types of cancer(lobular & ductal) and the doctor told me if I kept 1 breast, I would still have a 40 % chance of getting cancer in that breast. I felt more safe this way.
