Hello ladies, just catching up! After my post regarding hair loss last Friday I proactively phoned my hospital to ask about wigs and was given an appointment for the following Monday luckily! Pre chemo assessment was Tuesday would have meant waiting til the wig lady's next visit 2 weeks later so that worked out well. I wasnt sure I wanted one as I've already cut my hair off through choice, but wanted to give myself a choice.

Well! I had a blast! What fun! I tried on 4, liked 2 and bought one and plan on buying at least one more! Its never occurred to me before - why would it? - that wearing a wig could be so much fun!

I can be someone else entirely I feel, it is an opportunity to change my persona...

I bought a shoulder grazing brunette graduated bob with low and highlights and toyed with the idea of getting the Same style but lighter in colour, then wearing them out alternately and see if anybody noticed the different colour! πŸ˜πŸ‘.

So thanks to previous comments - esp Mrs Nails thk u - I am planning a 2nd, slightly longer and lighter version for the summer!

It is going to be a bit tricky as I live in a small village and already i went out on the same day both with and without it! To the same place! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Whatever next 😘Xxx

Glad youve got a lovely wig Do u live in UK we didnt pay for ours. I had a great wig it got a bit tattered as time went on. Hairdresser said the culprit was the heat when u open the oven door so there u go! X

πŸ˜… excellent excuse for not cooking then! Yes, in U.K and yes paid Β£68.90 for the little acrylic number that retails around Β£150. I don't mind. Are you in Scotland then?

Speaking of a different look with a wig....... I went on a post treatment celebratary cruise holiday. My own head had a very fine covering of skin head type hair and as I was on holiday (with a bunch of total strangers) with hubby I had decided to dispense with wig wearing for the majority of the day. I just couldn't see myself taking off a wig and popping it back on at the side of a pool if I wanted a quick dip etc. Anyway, to get to the point of my tale, I did take the wig and on formal nights, I glammed up with full makeup "Look good, feel better" style, complete with a really good quality wig. As I sat down to dinner our usual table waiter came across and treated me like a complete stranger because I looked so different! It gave my husband & I a real giggle watching the way people reacted until they realised that it really was me underneath the facade! Have fun and enjoy the lighter moments of cancer side effects! X

Another fun story thank you 😊 it's not all bad is it?

I clearly need to plan a cruise! My birthday is October, might be a good time πŸ›₯ X

Hedgesaw We too took a Cruise once Chemo was over & my Oncologist said Go, Enjoy yourself! My hair had still not shown much sign of returning but the plus side of the Wig was l could take it off, have a nap, then just pop it back on again & l was good to go! πŸ’πŸ»

My hairs not brilliant, grown back very sparse at the front so still sporting a wig but it does save a lot of time!

Hope you're doing well πŸ’
