Hi AC chemo is a fairly tough chemo regime. I started with TC then had AC then CMF chemo. AC does leave you breathless doing the lightest of activities. There will be hairloss, the nail beds may hurt as treatment progresses. Expect utter fatigue at times. Tell your partner to listen to her body. If she feels tired then rest. It may be that she will rest more than take part in activities but this is because her body needs it. I would have been very active but chemo really whacked me. I finished treatment totally three weeks ago and expected to be able to bounce around the place but after 10 months of chemo followed by radiotherapy I was clearly living in cloud cuckoo land. I still feel weak, lethargic and get fairly breathless. I still need a sleep during the day. This is reducing but will take time. My nails are still coming off. But my hair is making a great comeback. Symptoms may vary if you are worried do consult your oncologist and care team. I wish your partner a full recovery. This is a battle and can be very tough but a positive, happy and as relaxed as possible envionment will play a huge part in her recovery. All the besy Lainey xx

Hi again, I had AC and I was breathless too, on exertion. She will be becoming anaemic. Her lack of red blood cells which carry oxygen, is what's causing the breathlessness. She will get her blood checked regularly to make sure her red blood cell count does not drop too low. She just has to learn to slow down!
