Hi, had my 1st mammogram following treatment for breast cancer. TNBC. And it's all clear. Feel like I've won the lottery. So relieved. 😍

I have my 1st Mammogram (following TNBC too) on 9th June

I have my Sons Wedding to look forward to before that, so trying not to think about it!

Don't know if you know but you are apparently only 4 miles away from me. I live just outside Chester. If ever you fancy meeting up for a coffee and a natter let me know ☺️

Hi Chris

Small world! Did you have your Surgery/Treatmentin Chester? I had my Surgery in Chester & my Chemo in Wrexham, as we live on The Border!

Yes, a coffee sounds good, after the Wedding would be best from 7th onward. Look forward to hear from you. X

Hi Cris. do you mind if I ask how long you had to wait after treatment to get your mammogram. I just finished treatment April 29th. And no one has really given me the answer to that question. thank you and god bless you

Hi Dawn

My mammogram is scheduled for 12months after my diagnosis, if that helps. x

I was diagnosed April last year. Had surgery, chemotherapy and radio. Finished all treatment on 18/11/15. Saw the consultant on 18/11/15 as well and he explained that there was too much going on in the boob to do a mammogram immediately after. In most cases they wait until everything has settled down and it's done 12 months after the 1st diagnosis. So I had my 1st post treatment mammogram in 15/4/16 and got the results last week on 18/5/16. That was a very long wait for results but they explained that they need to allow time to do more tests etc if needed before u go back to see the consultant. They will now do a mammogram every 12 months but see me every 6 for 3 years and then every 12 months up to the 5th year. That is on top of the check ups with the Oncologist. Hope that helps. If you've only just finished treatment I wouldn't be expecting another mammogram for a few months unless they feel it necessary. Xx

Thanks for all the replies I appreciate it. that is a long time to wait. In worried about the mental stress of that wait

It's impossible not to to be stressed. I think it's learning how to live with it. It really is taking a day, week or month at a time. Alot of us in here are still in treatment or maybe just out of it. It's never ending. I feel massively relieved that my 1st mammogram was clear but I'm not for a minute presuming the next one will be. But until someone tells me otherwise I'm going to do my best not to worry about it. Stress is bad, very bad for you. Avoid at all costs. Here for you if you need to chat anytime xx

Hi Chris well done on the mammogram I can imagine it must have been quite an emotional time. Thanks for the info about the first mammogram because I too had been wondering when it would be done. I was diagnosed early October so I guess a few months to wait yet for me. Keep strong X

Yay!!!
