Hi Sue, good luck, your story is similiar to mine, lumpectomies (both breasts), all Lymph nodes were taken from right arm as 3 were cancerous, then 3 weeks radiotherapy, I was discharged from Oncology in March 2014, 2 mammograms later it hasn't come back, I wish you well xx
It is a very scary time and a lonely journey. I have just finished my radiotherapy after being diagnosed last May, two ops later, last one being a mastectomy, chemo done too. Keep fighting and good luck
Hi! I am also new here. I had invasive ductal carcinoma and double mastectomy 1 year ago. On Tamoxifen and still fighting emotions through this whole thing even though I was blessed to have an early diagnosis.
Been there almost 2 years now you stay strong and try to be postitive xx
Hi sue
Great news that your nodes are clear. I had 2 lumpectomies & then had mastectomy last Sept . Was terrified meeting the oncologist but happy to say she decided I didn't need chemo or radiotherapy, just take tamoxifen for 5 years. Hopefully you'll be just as lucky
Hi Sue, congrats on it all being removed. You are bound to feel in shock, as from diagnosis to treatment whether it be chemo, surgery, radiotherapy or all three, your life changes. It is like a tsunami of appointments and consultations that your life isn't your own for a while. It is dictated by chemo sessions, appointments and by worry, fear, shock and utter disbelief that it has happened to you. I was diagnosed on the 2nd October 2015. Had three chemo sessions and operated on, on the 5th Jan. Unfortunately I developed sepsis and pneumonia so collectively was in hospital for just under a month. I'm back there today for a needle aspiration and to see Oncologist as they feel more chemo may be needed. Thursday I am with the radiologist to arrange dates for that treatment. I guess it will be a further shock to the system when all this is over and getting used to having a life back. It's scary, but we are fighters, I don't think we will ever get over the shock of it happening to us. Good luck.in the rest of your treatment. x
