hello

Well.., diverticulitis is not nice at all. New to me and having got to age 64 fairly unscathed apart from anxiety, am feeling a bit vulnerable. Woke with abdo pain +++ and was away visiting family struggled on but when I got home pain was worse and went to see Dr. Given abx and pain subsided. Blood test shows raised inflammatory markers for infection. Long story short I ended up in A and E as pain kept coming back - CT scan confirmed diverticulitis. Agree with other members that pain is horrid, tiredness is also very real but anxiety levels are now stratospheric which also doesn’t help I know. Hoping all this will calm down and if anyone out there has similar experience I would be really pleased to read any of your posts. Thanks.

Hello that sounds like a arful ordeal I don't have it but I've read about, I had arful intestine pain too Friday so I empathise with you, Im.still waiting for colonoscopy Tuesday, but had Ulcerative colitis nearly ten yrs ago it went with strick diet, they say high fibre but not for that nor diverticulitis but I'm not expert, I'd certainly avoid beans and wholemeal stuff anything that can stick in the pockets although of course we need to form stools, I was lot better this morning I'm eating only soluble fibre white bread potatoes no skin, I think you need bananas, my condition I can't eat anything rough like skin on grapes even, tomato seeds, whilst I'm heeling, a previous nebours of mine has diverticulitis she had banana everyday, it never bothered her much, so I'm sure you'll be able to manage it with proper advice, I read a book by Gillian makieth who lives with chrones, she mentioned all the IBS irritable bowel disease ones, probiotic yogurt to keep gut bacteria balanced, I hope you feel better soon and get some more replies with experience, have you tried the IBS site 🤗

When it flares up nothing helps and yes it’s the anguish as well it causes doctors just give antibiotics which makes it work
