Hi Uglo I don’t think you will know unless you stop the steroid.

It depends how long you’ve been on them. If it’s short term you probably are ok but if you’ve been on it longtime then you shouldn’t come off without medical supervision.

I am also a 69years old female and have recently had a Synacthen test in the endocrinology clinic to test how much adrenalin I am producing. I have also been in the clinic all day on another occasion and they take blood samples during the day, before and after taking steroids. They can see how much adrenalin is being produced before and after taking steroids and adjust the amount prescribed depending on the results.

Both are very simple tests - just blood samples taken.
