Reducing Aledronic Acid to fortnightly.

I have been on Aledronic Acid for just I two years, having been diagnosed with Osteoporosis. I take a 70 mg weekly, but find soon after, I seem to get aches in my muscles and mild headaches. I was thinking of taking this medication, every fortnight, rather than weekly, to lessen these side effects. Has anyone done similar?

I can’t help you make that decision - a lot depends on your DEXA results, whether or not you have fractured and what risks you are prepared to take. Why don’t you contact the ROS - link to the right - and speak to someone for advice?

Hi I take 35mg weekly, I don't have any side effects, I don't know that much about it but maybe your GP could look at your side effects and adjust your meds accordingly
