Have you had rib or spinal fractures?

Are you checking vitamin D levels, calcium and other critical vitamins?

I used to take vitamin D tablets then I moved to Spain and no longer take them

What is your vitamin D level now? How were you diagnosed with osteoporosis?

I was diagnosed by a bone density scan

Had a blood test about 3 weeks ago and was no deficiency with vitamin D

I took aldronic acid for 5 years then 18 months took me off it on no medication now But in the blood test it showed a hormone which was high that the doctor said it is an hormone that keeps the bones strong and cause it was high shows her that my body is working hard to keep my bones strong she is waiting for result of the test to give me medication

Doctor sent me for a bone density scan 2 weeks ago just waiting for result

What was your vitamin D level? Not being deficient is not the same thing as being optimal. A DEXA scan will not show up smaller spinal fractures so if you have not had spinal xrays assessed by an osteoporosis specialist then you cannot be sure you have not had spinal fractures.

Bisphosphonates can cause bone pain. The side effects may stay with you a long time because the drug is incorporated into bone and then slowly released.
