UPDATE FROM APPOINTMENT.NO EVIDENCE OF REBOUND FRACTURES FROM ONE INJECTION OF PROLIA.

Ok I've had an update from my appointment earlier in the week.

Blood tests: Vitamin D excellent. Others??? satisfactory ( I really need to know what the others were) and last but not least I have now been told that the test that marks bone loss was not included!!!!

Good news is, there is no evidence of rebound fractures after one injection, and Prolia will be out of me by the end of the 9th month for me that's end of October.

Dexa scan to be arranged for early next year.

My side effects I am being told are not typical, but this has been softened by telling me everyone is different.

I want to say here that when I was first put on treatments years ago, there were no forums or sites of any kind to be found.

I felt very much alone and often felt I was going mad when I was getting fobbed off regarding my side effects.

Being in touch with others now is fantastic and being able to share are experiences with each other is a truly wonderfull thing.

We are not alone.

So finally I am now going to be left alone for a while, nothing has been put in place for me to have next.

I have to wait while my next appointment in October to find out anything else.

Lucky me will be going away for 4 weeks soon where hopefully the sun will shine each and every day.

My son insists, that is THE best medication that's available.

I have to agree with him.

Very good to read the good news of no new fractures! :-) Less good to hear that you weren't given full blood reports.

Maybe that's something you want to ask for before you go away, as you have a right to have the full report, so it waits for you after your stay in the sunshine?

Interesting comment '9 months' til Prolia out of your system. It is said to be 6 months, that's why there are 6-month intervals between shots.

I agree with you, it is wonderful to have this place to share information, experience, and to feel encouragement and hope through doing so.

Now I hope you have a beautiful and refreshing stay at your son's sunseaandsandy place.

Think you may have misunderstood.

I was meaning that I was told that there is no evidence that Prolia causes fractures after one injection,I had raised my concerns over this.

The 9 months is of interest, I was told just before I had my Prolia injection that I may be able to go 7 or 8 months in between injections if my blood tests were to show that it was still working.

I am presuming after six month it would have reduced effect.

I have just over a week before I continue to add to the vitamin D.!!
