Hi, I've had 4 spinal fractures and my GP put me on Fentanyl patches, 12mcg and 25mcg. and Oramorph, plus I add in paracetamol. Some days it doesn't seem to make any difference. Other I'm practically pain free. Been using them for 3 years now. Nobody can tell you what treatment to take. I personally have Zolodrenic acid, which is a bisphonate infusion once a year. Many members prefer to use diet with or without supplements such as Vit K2 and Boron. In the list to the right of the page, click on TREATMENTS and read some of the posts on there.

Hi, I’ve had 2 spinal fractures in the last 4 years, the 1st was a spontaneous fracture 4yrs ago to my Sacrum which has caused huge problems (loss of function and extreme pain through my left hip into my ground) the 2nd one was much higher up, in between my shoulder blades,2yrs ago. I went to the GP about the last one and he said to carry on with my current pain relief and just let it heal naturally but that has continued to be painful on and of ever since.

I use Bupenorphine patches (15mg), cocodamol, Naproxen and Nortrytaline as painkillers and see the Pain Management Clinic regularly.

For my Osteoporosis, I have been taking Alendronic Acid weekly for around 3 1/2 years now and I have suffered no side effects at all. Lots of people say they do but I must be lucky as I haven’t. Plus my T scores are improving slowly so it must be working!

Hope your recovery doesn’t take too long, research and read as much as you can before making up your mind, I wasn’t given an option as my scores were so low and I’d suffered a spontaneous fracture but there are other routes to follow.

Best wishes, Lynley 🙏

This worked for me - don't know if it will work for you. I started on Oromorph, then went on to Co-DRIdamol (not the usual ones). Best of luck
