Thank you for your reply to my query. I look forward to reading about others with osteoporosis and also anyone who is or has been on Teriparatide injections.

Hi Gillymar. I have been giving myself daily injections of teriparatide for almost a

year. The injections are not a problem and I was told that it was the only treatment that

promoted bone growth. I consider myself very lucky to have this treatment on the NHS

because it is very expensive and only prescribed for people who cannot tolerate

bisphosphonates. I will be tested again after 18 months as I may have reached the required

level, and if so it will be stopped. My Consultant says he won't know what to give me after

the course finishes. I think I will try to avoid other drug treatments. Is there anything you

want to know specifically?

Thank you so much for your reply on Teriparatide . I agree with everything you say. I was told it was very expensive so I too am grateful to be having it on the NHS. Two years ( not all at one go) is the maximum time to be on it but I am hoping to be off it in 3 months. Did you have any side effects ? The consultant said it caused nausea and dizziness but only for about half an hour but I have not suffered anything. Looking forward to hearing more from you. I have just done my 4th injection so am a long way behind you.

Hi Gillymar. Re side effects from teriparatide When I first started the injections I had about

3 days of nausea and dizziness, but because I already have these symptoms from vertigo

I don't know if I can blame the injections. No further problems and I am happy to carry on

with them. Have you had fractures? Is that why it has been prescribed for you.?
