Good morning everyone. I haven't posted in the past few weeks. As some of you know, Jimmy had decided to discontinue treatment. Well when we saw oncologist last, he talked him into giving Lenvima another try at lower dose. So we started it again. The first time he took it he got sores in his mouth and couldn't eat. This time after about a week, he suddenly had ulcers/ sores appearing on his legs, chest, etc. Took him to primary Dr because some were starting to get infected. So back off Lenvima, on Doxycycline and Silvadene cream for the sores. It's been a week and saw primary AGAIN yesterday and sores appear like they are healing.
Other good news is the MRI that oncologist and GI had wanted of brain and upper spine showed no cancer. He's been having headaches, dizziness, blurry vision and neck pain. They were worried about a met. He did pick up new glasses and that's seemed to help with headache and vision problems. Had to get bifocals.
On the downside, he's lost a couple more pounds and his stomach seems more swollen. I had noticed it but he'd tried to say he was eating too many snacks. Well the Dr scales blew that theory. His abdomen was pretty tender too. Primary told me to call GI for an appointment. He's in our small town. Liver specialist is almost two hours away so we are GI specialist more. He's out of office this week but Jimmy has appointment on Monday to see him. Then back to primary on Tuesday. They'd had to lower his dose of lasix because he was getting terrible leg cramps during the night. May have to tweak that if he's retaining more fluid. Please keep us in your prayers.

I'm so sorry Sharon. Jimmy's swollen stomach--along with the details you provided--seems like it may be his liver is swelling and/or full of fluid. There is an alternative to Lasix if the fluid is only in his liver but I'm not sure every GI does the procedure or if Jimmy would want it done. I'm here.
Hi Andrea,He had gained give pounds in a week so they've scheduled a paracentesis for Thursday morning. Hopefully it will help. He's never had one before. His Dr said he was happy with blood work though. Said Jimmy was holding his own.
That is such good news about the MRI! And I hope he can get some relief from the other issues. I am absolutely keeping you both in my prayers. Please keep us updated after Jimmy sees the GI on Monday.
Wendy, The GI agreed his stomach is swollen and feels that he needs a paracentesis so that's hopefully happening this Thursday. He goes in tomorrow for bloodwork prior to procedure. He had gained about 5 pounds in a week. We were actually at his other Dr appointment today when I read your post about Dave. Jimmy's primary is wonderful caring Dr and a Christian. He walked in as I was sharing the news with Jimmy. I was crying, Jimmy too. After I explained to Eric, he prayed with us for strength and comfort for you. Think we were all three teary eyed when Kim the nurse walked in and she joined us in our grief at a life ended too soon. She wanted me to tell you that you are in her prayers and she's so sorry for your loss. It's so scary how fast it can happen. 💔. Stay strong girl. You're also in my prayers. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Yes I plan to cherish every day that Jimmy is with me. We were both Blessed to find out soulmate. Most people never even realize such a thing exists. Jimmy's promised we're going to dance to Tupelo Honey on New Year's Eve and I'm holding him to it. It's our song. Van Morrison. We've actually stopped and danced in middle of backroad because it came on the radio. I do consider you my friend and I meant it that I'm here for you. Anyway, I can help and in my prayers EVERY day. ❤❤❤

Hi JoschuaThank you and your wife for the kind words. Jimmy is supposed to have a procedure on Thursday to remove fluid so hopefully that will help him. He's gained five pounds since last week that they're assuming is fluid. We so appreciate your prayers.🙏❤
You're welcome. Having HCC and cirrhosis myself know how it is. I did not have that fluid treatment myself . Is it very painful? We wish you all the best and good results. Joshua

This will be the first time he's had to have it done so I'm honestly not sure if it's painful. As I understand ut, he's awake but they give something to relax and also numb area where needle goes in. I'm hoping it's not too bad. Poor thing seems to have to get stuck and poked and prodded all the time. Had to get blood drawn today for procedure tomorrow.
Oh I understand! Ihad a treatment with a long needle in Lisbon. Radiofrequency to destroy the tumor. The process was painless but it is still very unpleasant. Also sometimes I had up to 3 needle holes in my arm. All this bloodgiving scans etc. Very tiring. Anyway all the best from us. Joshua
