increase in PVCs

I notice an increase in my PVCs upon rolling over or changing positions while in bed. Has anyone else noted this and,if so, has he/she been given an explanation of why positional changes provoke their PVCs?

Ectopics increasing with a certain position is common. See York Cardiologist explanation here youtube.com/live/tPdZjfq6kM...

Many thanks for referring me to the presentation by Dr. Gupta. The relationships between ectopics & the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems make a lot of sense. I agree that tension, excitement, different postures, a full stomach all affect my PVCs. As another example in my case, I can provoke PVCs by simply looking at a rhythm strip on my smart watch or concentrating on my heart rate& rhythm.

I experience the same. Some positions are also worse than others. The link the PP posted is a good one to take a look at.

When I used to have a lot of PVCs and PACs lying on my left side seemed to increase them. I was able to "knock out" 98% of my PVC/PAC issues using a natural supplement protocol as follows:

Taurine - 2000mg in the morning, 2,000 mg around noon, 2000mg at night...

L arginine- 1000mg in the morning, 1000 mg around noon, 1000 mg at night...

Thanks for the reply. I'll do some research on these agents. If they are effective they must affect myocardial irritability.

Here is an abstract of the study my suggestion is based on...They used much larger quantities of Taurine and L Arginine in the study, but I had success with smaller quantities-

… by chance are you on any proton pump inhibitors ? Nexium or Prilosec ?

Curious, as I am and experienced PVC’s also

No, I don't take these meds. The link listed by brainboxes regarding mechanisms of ectopic beats is well worth listening to

Yes laid certain positions can cause them. Also I noticed post heart attack that lying on my left side at night causes discomfort and also have woken up many times like this and lots of tingling going on. My heart mustn't like the left side. Anyone else get this?

Yes. The heart being on the left side of our thorax makes its ( heart) action more forceful & more noticeable while lying on our left side.

I get them all the time I have to sleep up to fall asleep im 36 and it's a pain! My left side and back seem to be worse than on my right side. I take bisoprolol but I don't see any difference. I did wonder if they slow me down to much then it causes more.
