Extreme Fatigue Post Heart Attack

Hello everyone.I had a heart attack in January, aged 45. Only one artery was affected and only required one stent. I think I've been recovering well, but am having one major issue with fatigue. It's only got really bad in the last month or so. I can sleep for 20 hours, be awake for 4, then sleep for another 20. I'm also having issues of feeling light headed and dizzy. My blood pressure is fine. My heart rate is normally mid 60s resting, but can drop to mid 50s, sleeping it's dropped to 30.

I'm currently taking the standard post heart attack cocktail including Bisopropolol and ramapril.

I'm going to my GP on Wednesday and any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

As you are going to see your GP on Wed, who, imo is best placed to advise on what to do, I suggest you make summary of your experiences and a list of any questions you might have to get the most out of your time, rather than trying to remember everything .

You could be describing me. One stent after a HA just before Christmas. I still get tired in the afternoons and am slowly getting there. I'd speak to your GP. Meds can make some people tired too.

I could sleep like this post heart attack. Still today with heart failure I can get a full 9 hours sleep or more then wake up and nap.anytime of the day or go back to bed. It's really a struggle even 4 years later. The meds themselves slow things down so it could be those too. Beta blockers, bp tablets etc.

I find pushing through it can sometimes help. Going for a walk in fresh air works half the time. Other half it's just rest and don't fight it.nits tough. Take it easy.

30! That's into bradycardia territory. You should definitely get that checked out. I will say that in the 6 weeks after a heart attack i was often in bed for 18-20 hours a day, and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Your body needs time to recover.

On bisoprolol 5 mg, my sleeping HR sometimes dips into the high 30s but is normally around 42-45

That's dropping very low at night. I was exactly the same after my HA. Turned out to be the bisopralol.

Hi Luba, im 46 had same as you in jan too, can i ask were you a vaper or a smoker prior to HA and Now your not ?

Heart rate if dropping to 30 seems far too low. Your doctor will definitely do what's best for you, probably the bisoprolol, mine drops to late 40's on occasion but usually in deep sleep. I was very tired post heart attack but that was probably the first 2 weeks, then I think as I healed and got used to medicines that wore off after about a month.
