In March had stent fitted to LAD however was told that unable to clear circumflex artery as 80% blocked.Don’t have any physical reactions, feel quite normal walking, playing golf etc.

What can be done about circumflex artery if anything apart from taking 8 medications a day.? 73 year old male in generally good health.Feel a bit anxious as not due to see cardiologist until mid June.Any observations will be helpful.

Keep in mind that I am not a cardiologist, though I have spent WAY too much time in their offices in recent years!

From what I understand, the LAD is a very critical artery, much more so than the circumflex or right coronary artery. Once the LAD is open, and you have no other symptoms, it's entirely possible and maybe even likely that you can live a normal lifespan without other interventions. If you are on high doses of statins, they can stabilize existing plaque. But I would definitely try to get clarity as to why your doctors can't stent the circumflex, and whether they think any other treatment is possible or necessary outside of medication. And, of course, what kind of follow up tests they plan.

hi Lochhead. One of my arteries (Lad) was 80% blocked with calcium. In order to shift it, they had to drill it out ( rotablation) so that they could insert the stent. Maybe worth enquiring?
