Read below. We are all different and travel insurance providers view us in this way too. So do your own research to find the best deal that fits your circumstances.

Had exactly same issue, used Staysure, although you won't be covered for heart related issues when you travel (pre existing co dition)

I had my HA in November..treated with meds only..good recovery...was quoted £1000 for a week in the USA!! That was the cheapest I could find! Postponing trip in the hope the premiums reduce as time passes...and hopefully no more heart issues! Good luck!

My son with medical conditions ( Not heart) is presently in USA for two months. The best he found was M&S but it will be different for every condition.

I had STEMI and cardiac arrest in 2015. Good recovery with just one stent and usual meds. then cardiac rehab. Six weeks later I went on a prebooked long haul holiday to India. Alas the cost of my annual policy increased from £120 to over £800 because of the recent heart attack.

I travel long haul frequently, including to the USA at least once a year. My insurance did get a bit cheaper afterwards. Generally it seems better value for annual cover rather than single trip.

Many companies won’t cover people with multiple health conditions and it is crucial to record them or the policy will not cover you.

The companies who I have found that specialise in pre existing conditions are- All Clear, Staysure and Avanti. Perhaps use a comparison site?
