Had been on metformin for a while but had bad diarrhea for last3-4 months stopped taking for the last 3wks but still testing my glucose levels which are fine. Got alot more energy breathing alot better no more getting dizzy when standing up& feeling great. went on a 7.5km walk up hill & down dale without any issue oximeter nowreadings 98. Hi I took metformin and became really ill, I felt nauseous all the time. I was told it would pass but in the end I could hardly breathe or walk another doctor took me off it and said I’m borderline diabetic, I shouldn’t be on it anyway. I began to overload on fluid. My EF went to 10% my cardiologist put me on entresto which was a trial drug and I improved slightly.

When I was put on dapagliflozin last year, as a added on to my heart failure cocktail I resisted at first and wasn’t sure especially as I discovered, it contain metformin, but I’ve had no reaction taking that, only losing weight and my EF improved to 23%.

You should speak to your doctor about it. If you’ve stopped taking something and you feel better then it must have been the cause of you feeling unwell. I only wished I had stopped it well before I did.

I have I was borderline diabetic took it for a while it's only since I've lost alot of wieght that things went abit downhill diarrhea and such but feel tons better.

I do get stomach problems probably from the cocktail of drugs. I think entresto may have caused a lot of this over the last couple years on and off.
