Pacemaker protection: any suggestion?

Hello Hearties,

I had a pacemaker implanted in October 2021, further my AVR procedure to resolve my total heart block.

I am 42 and very active person, cycling and hiking a lot. I have taken on bouldering/rock climbing about 10 months ago and now that I am progressing and starting doing more challenging moves, I am sometimes scared to hit my chest in the pacemaker area and was researching for a pacemaker protection/shield to wear when training/exercising.

I have been looking online and saw some interesting products, such like Vitalbeat or Paceguard and I was wondering if anyone had tried them or currently owns one of these to learn if they are good products to buy.

Thanks all :-)

Fabio

Hi Faub,

I have come across this site vitalbeat.com/

they make protective products for sports and general day today use. They make t-shirts with a pocket where you slip the protective padding in. Check the site out and enjoy your activities.

Hi and thanks for your suggestion. I do know them, I was wondering, before making the expense, if anyone had actually tried it before? Did you happen to own one? Thanks and have a great wekeend!!

Have you now bought any protectors, I have found Paceguard and Vitabeat USA, and Diaproy Spain, which is different from USA models
