Hi - I respect all the problems / experiences forum members face . However after double cabg on 9th January 2023 ( urgent , following angiogram) my recovery has been-I believe - amazing..I have not suffered the side effects of medication felt by others ( bisoprolol especially ) did exactly what doctor ordered - discharged after 6 weeks .Exercised well , revisited diet - cardiac rehab a bit of a long story ( none at moment)so purely personal responsibility and common sense

Completed park run ( walking)today in less than 50 minutes

Back to work ( office based ) Monday !

Not bad for 63 years ( or 40+a lot of VAT)

Still suffering pain left breast /shoulder but manageable

I hope this small entry gives hope to all and I send prayers for those who are still struggling

Regards

Hi, having quietly followed your exploits - yes ,given time I may be interested in Masters Athletics .The plan is to run park run ( as I used to ) - not really bothered re time - just a sense of achievement -

then get back refereeing in new season -

then take it from there

Thanks for the invitation

Thank you :-) x

Dear You,

Welcome to your first post and what a fantastic post it is.

There is nothing nicer to read than about the positives that people have achieved in this incredible heart fight that we all have.

I am very pleased that you are doing so well, please keep an eye on all your recovery including that pain that you still have, its important that we don't run before walking again { sorry not trying to tell you something you already know }

The other one thing to look out for is the mental side of it all, it can hit you later on, again you seem to have that all under control.

The only reason I mention them is it was the two things that I brushed aside and paid for it later on.

But fantastic post, fantastic achievement, and I wish you all the best.

Take care
