Yesterday I had a half hour session with my medical qigong teacher and he took me through all the organ health practice forms that I already know to show me modifications for my new heart condition. Also gave me two practices that will be helpful to my lungs and heart. This morning I'll be teaching my first organ health qigong class since my heart attack in the zendo (zen temple) in my back yard. (I'm a Soto Zen priest.) Also, a friend came and planted my potatoes and dug my pea bed while I seeded in the greenhouse. (Half hour work; fifteen minutes rest). Bit by bit, in a less gung ho manner, I'm getting my life back.
I have an appointment with the heart function nurse next Friday and will meet with my family doctor, at her request, next Tuesday ... probably to start the beta blocker and the medicine that lowers blood pressure. Bit by bit I'm meeting my new life.
Next Wednesday is my birthday and my partner is making salt free fruit flan and a salt free artisan focaccia bread with roasted garlic and sun dried tomatoes (no salty olives ... darn!) We've invited five couple friends to celebrate my 77th birthday. Bit by bit, I'm returning to the world.

The world is waiting to welcome you back. It seems that you are in tune with your body and finding the balance is a hard one to do after it has had such a shock.
I like the way that you blend your spiritual side with standard tested medication it is vital to get the mental journey stronger than the physical one.
I read you posts with interest,
Happy Birthday for next Wednesday { the food sounds delicious }
Wow Kuya, glad things are improving and happy birthday, sounds lovely and really was only thinking about spiritual practices and yoga and qigong etc and wondering whether there was anyone in Cardiff that had.knowledge and did sessions for heart patients. You ve inspired me to look again and try and find one locally. X
