My understanding is that pacemakers are only susceptible to strong electromagnetic fields such as those created by an induction hob (which I am certain you have been advised to avoid) . Your Garmin watch is extremely unlike to generate an electromagnetic field which has sufficient strength to affect your pacemaker, especially since it will normally be worn well away for your pacemaker, so I would have thought you can proceed with your purchase with confidence.

I wear an Apple Watch with a Biotronik pacemaker and monitor and the clinic haven’t found anything untoward

Ok thank you

Dear Frenzy,

First a warm welcome to both you and your first question to the site.

I hope you find it as helpful and supportive as I and many others have.

There seems a lot of worry around having a pacemaker { like mine } fitted and most are based on a lot older models and still the stories persist .

If you have any worries like this then contact your pacemaker manufactures web site where they will give you better { and more up to date } information than your own pacemaker clinic can do.

In answer to your concerns you will have no problems with that piece of equipment. The main problems are stronger magnetic inducing equipment that will temporary and I mean temporary interfere with the pacing of the pacemaker.

As soon as you out of range of that then all modern pacemakers will reset to the setting set by your pacemaker team.

Good luck with it all
