Exercise

hi all,

I’m thinking of buying a rebounder for some low impact exercise. Has anyone experience of using one? I’m 18 moths post aortic valve replacement and aortic patc and 12mths since being diagnosed with mild right sided hf. Currently my exercise consists of doing walking videos and dancing.

Thanks

Dear Toulouse

I am 28 months on from a replacement aortic valve. Mine is tissue, if yours is mechanical then exercise might be different.

Gentle walking was the key exercise. Beyond the walking I had a crib sheet showing me five easy indoor exercises.

There was no rehab due to the pandemic.

Enough for me !

Hi thanks for the advice. I already do the 150 mins walking and also get up and walk every hour. I was thinking of the rebounder as an extra to stay supple.

Hi Backtotheblues, As I said to blackcatsooty, I’m hoping to use the rebounder in addition to walking.

I have to drive to get to an area I can walk in in the countryside so am just looking to do a little more.

Thanks for both replies, I really appreciate them.

Thanks for that. Did you feel it helped your rehab?

I’m 72 and before my surgery was doing both yoga and throwing kettlebells about every few days, which I really enjoyed. I still do yoga and use weights though not KBs - to much overhead stuff. I recently read an article about the use of rebounders to improve core strength and balance- both vital to keep healthy as we age. I think I’ll give it a go and post my success or otherwise. Thanks for your input.
